Abstract:

External Root Resorptionmay be an uncontrolled phenomenon, and themost known interventions have no effect. Even progressive external Root Resorption may not be controlled by long term Ca(OH)2 therapy. Currently, there are no treatment options for vital tooth that suffer from Root Resorption. This invasive Resorption can lead to extraction of the tooth. The use of new technologies such as low power laser may control this type of Resorption.

Abstract:

Introduction: The aim of this innovative study was to regenerate a condition that makes it possible to carry out researches in the field on a variety of Resorption.Materials and Methods: In order to develop apical Resorption, the Root canals of selected teeth were instrumented and then drilled with #4 Gates Glidden drills. In the next stage, the teeth were submerged in melted rose wax up to 3 mm to the apex. The waxed teeth were submerged in 20% sulfuric acid for 4 days. After that, all samples were evaluated under stereomicroscope and also the SEM.Results: Images showed areas with different pattern of Resorption in Root apex and entire Root canals in all samples. Conclusion: Simulation of the Root Resorption can be helpful in many experimental studies.

Abstract:

The aim of this case report was to present a case of multiple idiopathic apical Root Resorption which is a rare condition in a 17-year-old adult male. External Root Resorption of the permanent teeth is a multifactorial process. Well-recognized causes of apical Root Resorption in permanent teeth include orthodontic therapy, trauma, periapical or periodontal inflammation, tumors, cysts, occlusal stress, impacted teeth, systemic conditions, endocrine imbalances and dietary habits. When none of these causes are present, it is termed idiopathic Root Resorption which may be either cervical or apical.Multiple idiopathic apical Root Resorption is a rare condition which is usually detected as an incidental radiographic finding. However, it may cause pain and mobility in severe cases.

Abstract:

Introduction: Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) is an effective cytokine in angiogenesis and bone remodeling. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of locally injected bFGF on movement rate and Root Resorption during orthodontic force application in dogs. Materials and Methods: In this experimental animal study, four 10-12 months male dogs were selected and were randomly allocated into two groups. A week following insertion of closing coil spring between the canines and second premolars, 50μ, g of bFGF was injected to the case group and phosphate saline to the control group once per month. One month after second injection, the distance between the mentioned teeth were measured. Also, Root Resorption percentage were analyzed on the second premolars. Results: Average maxillary tooth movement rate in case and control groups were found 2. 53 and 1. 35mm/month respectively. The correspondent mandibular measures were 2. 23mm and 1. 15mm. These differences were statistically significant (P<0. 0001). In respect to Root Resorption, the differences were found statistically significant (P<0. 01) for coronal region in maxilla, which was higher in control group. Regarding the apical and middle regions of both jaws as well as coronal region of mandible the differences were insignificant. Conclusion: The results of the study showed that the local injection of bFGF can increase tooth movement rate and has the potential to decrease Root Resorption during orthodontic tooth movement in dogs.

Abstract:

INTRODUCTION: Root Resorption IS A DESTRUCTIVE PROCESS IN DENTISTRY, WHICH ALWAYS CALLS FOR THERAPEUTIC PREPARATIONS. AMONG VARIOUS TYPES OF ResorptionS, INVASIVE CERVICAL Resorption OCCURS AS A LOCAL Resorption ON THE OUTER SURFACE OF THE Root, AND USUALLY HAS NO ACCESS TO THE DENTAL CANAL. ON THE OTHER HAND, INTERNAL INFLAMMATORY Resorption IS ONE CREATED AS A MUTUAL RESULT OF INFLAMED APICAL PULP AND NECROTIC TISSUE OF Root CORONAL CAUSING Root PERFORATION...
